Booking Terms & Conditions Peter Hess® Sound Massage

Sound Body Sound Life

By booking a Peter Hess® Sound Massage appointment with Sound Body Sound Life, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Nature of the Service

Peter Hess® Sound Massage is a gentle, holistic wellness modality that uses specially designed therapeutic singing bowls placed on and around the fully clothed body. The sound and vibrations are intended to promote deep relaxation, body awareness and overall wellbeing.

Sound Massage is not a medical treatment, physiotherapy, massage therapy or psychological therapy. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition and should not replace advice or treatment from your doctor or other qualified healthcare professional.

2. Client Responsibility

By attending your appointment, you confirm that:

• You have provided accurate and complete health information.

• You will inform your practitioner of any changes to your health before your appointment.

• You understand that it is your responsibility to seek medical advice regarding any existing health conditions.

• You will advise your practitioner immediately if you experience any discomfort during the session.

3. Contraindications

Sound Massage may not be suitable for everyone.

Please advise your practitioner before booking if you have:

• A pacemaker or implanted electronic medical device

• Acute inflammation or infection

• Recent surgery or fractures

• Metal implants in areas where bowls may be placed

• Epilepsy or sound-induced seizures

• Pregnancy (particularly during the first trimester)

• Any serious medical condition that may affect your ability to safely receive a Sound Massage

If you are unsure whether Sound Massage is appropriate for you, please consult your healthcare professional before booking.

4. Booking and Deposit

• A $20 deposit is required to secure your appointment.

• The deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your Sound Massage on the day of your appointment.

• Appointments are confirmed once the deposit has been received.

5. Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise.

• You may reschedule your appointment without losing your deposit by providing at least 24 hours' notice before your scheduled appointment.

• Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice will result in the $20 deposit being forfeited.

• If you do not attend your appointment without notifying us (a no-show), your $20 deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.

• If Sound Body Sound Life needs to cancel or reschedule your appointment, your deposit will be transferred to a new appointment or refunded in full.

• This policy allows us to reserve dedicated time for each client while giving others the opportunity to book available appointments.

6. Late Arrival

• If you arrive late, your session may need to be shortened to avoid impacting subsequent appointments. The full appointment fee will still apply.

• If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled and the cancellation policy may apply. 

7. Payment

The remaining balance is payable at the completion of your appointment unless otherwise arranged. Accepted payment methods are cash and card payments only.

8. Health Changes

Please inform your practitioner before your appointment if:

• You become unwell.

• You develop cold or flu symptoms.

• Your medical condition changes.

• Your appointment may need to be postponed if receiving Sound Massage is not appropriate at that time.

9. Confidentiality

All personal information and health details shared during the booking process and appointments will be treated confidentially and managed in accordance with applicable Australian privacy legislation.

Information will not be shared with third parties unless required by law or with your consent.

10. Personal Belongings

Please remove shoes, watches, large jewellery and silence your mobile phone before your session. Sound Body Sound Life accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged personal belongings.

11. Children

Clients under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian provide consent prior to treatment. A parent or guardian may be required to remain on the premises during the session.

12. Right to Decline or Terminate a Session

Sound Body Sound Life reserves the right to decline, postpone or discontinue a session if:

• It is believed the treatment is not suitable.

• There are health or safety concerns.

• A client behaves in a disrespectful, abusive or inappropriate manner.

• Information relevant to the safe delivery of the session has not been disclosed.

13. Liability

While every effort is made to provide a safe and supportive experience, participation is voluntary and at your own risk.

By booking a session, you acknowledge that Sound Body Sound Life and its practitioner are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from participation except where required under Australian Consumer Law.

14. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a Peter Hess® Sound Massage appointment, you confirm that:

• You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.

• The information you have provided is true and accurate.

• You voluntarily consent to receiving a Peter Hess® Sound Massage.
